Every MARAIS bag begins the same way. not with a machine, but with a pair of hands that know exactly what they're doing.
In Bali, in an atelier tucked beside the home where head tailor Larco lives with his wife and their baby daughter, a team of seven men show up every day and build things to last. They are not a factory. They are craftsmen, and there's a difference. Complex cuts, clean edges, structures that hold their shape for years, this team makes it happen, by hand, every time. On a full day, they produce ten bags. That's the ceiling, and that's the point.
Our coordinator Coco keeps it all running. Originally from Jakarta, he moved to Bali to work in his older brother's leather shop, learning the material, the trade, the culture around it. He's 28, and he knows this world from the inside.
Ten bags a day. That's what it means to own one.
